FROM MY MAILBOX: CAN I GET A TATTOO?
salam aleykum sister, I want to ask if it's Islamic to get a tattoo, and what's the difference between a tattoo and henna designs. Jazakillah.
وَعَلَيْكُمُ سَّلاَمْ وَرَحْمَةُ اللهِ وَبَرَكَاتُ ,its not islamical to get tatoo,here's this hadith,which I can't remeber fully right now,but which is against tatoo and carving of eye lashes. Also the difference between tatoos and henna designs is :1stly,henna is islamically accepted as a mode of beautifying oneself ,also because it allows for water penetration during ablution 2ndly,henna is a temporary design which fades easily within a short time,which tatoo is almost always permanent
